Highland Park

The Highland Park and University Park, also known as the Park Cities, are both considered premiere neighborhoods in the Dallas area. Highland Park and University Park are known for its high quality of living, beautiful parks, award winning homes, closeness to downtown Dallas, excellent public schools, proximity to shopping centers, and Southern Methodist University. Highland Park and University Park homes for sale are highly sought after and range in styles. These neighborhoods have some of the most unusual and palatial homes in the area. Highland Park was laid out by Wilbur David Cook, the landscape architect who designed Beverly Hills, California.

Education

The Highland Park Independent School District is a consolidated school district serving both Highland Park and University Park.

Southern Methodist University is a private four-year, undergraduate and graduate school. More than 75 percent of the professors hold doctoral degrees. The school stresses broad education and solid training in specific fields and offers more than 80 majors. SMU features the Edwin L. Highland Park Shopping

 

Highland Park Village is America’s first shopping center and a National Historic Landmark. It is home to internationally known stores such as Ralph Lauren, Jimmy Choo, Escada, Hermes, Luca Luca, St. John, Chanel, D. Porthault, Tory Burch, and Harry Winston, as well as local unique specialty shops.

NorthPark Center proudly offers shoppers the best of the best in every category represented including the finest in luxury retail and market exclusives. It is the largest shopping center in North Texas, is one of the top five in size in the United States and is projected to be one of the top five shopping destinations in the country. The mall includes Neiman Marcus, Barneys New York, Nordstroms, Macy’s, Michael Kors, David Yurman, Lily Pulitzer, Oscar de la Renta, Carolina Herrera, and hundreds of smaller specialty stores as well as an AMC Theatre. Snyder Plaza and Preston Center are also located in this area, and offer many unique specialty shops and restaurants.
